1. Acceptance

By using safemains.com.au, submitting a form, booking a free water test, paying a reservation deposit or purchasing a product or service from us, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use our services.

2. Eligibility and service area

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. Installation services are currently offered in New South Wales, Australia. Quotes outside our service area are at our discretion.

3. Free water test bookings

Free water tests are offered subject to availability and your home being within our service area. Booking a water test does not create any obligation to purchase. We may decline or reschedule bookings where access, safety or scheduling issues arise.

4. Quotes and pricing

All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST unless stated otherwise. Quotes are valid for 30 days unless we say otherwise in writing. Final pricing may change after a site inspection if non-standard plumbing, access, electrical work or council requirements apply — we will discuss any variation with you before proceeding.

5. Reservation deposits (10%)

  • A 10% reservation deposit secures your selected package and place in our installation schedule.
  • Deposits are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
  • Your deposit is fully refundable if your home is found unsuitable for installation following our suitability assessment.

6. Installation

Installations are performed by licensed NSW plumbers. You must provide safe, reasonable access to your water mains, electrical supply (where required) and the install location. Standard installation assumes a typical residential mains configuration; non-standard work (e.g. trenching, concrete cutting, additional bypass plumbing, electrical upgrades) may attract additional charges quoted before work proceeds. Any pre-existing plumbing defects discovered during installation remain your responsibility.

7. Payment

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the balance is payable on completion of installation. Title in any goods supplied does not pass to you until full payment is received. Late payments may incur interest at the RBA cash rate + 4% p.a. and reasonable recovery costs.

8. Warranty & Service Support

Key Coverage & Terms

  • Whole-Home Systems: 24-month warranty against manufacturing and installation defects.
  • Filter Cartridges: 12 months. Note: Premature blockage caused by local water sediment loads is considered normal wear and tear.

What Voids the Warranty?

  • Failing to replace filter cartridges at least every 12 months.
  • Damage resulting from unlicensed installation.
  • Misuse, neglect, or tampering with the system.

Warranty & Service Support

The warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, alteration, third-party servicing, abnormal water pressure, freezing, fire, flood or other events outside our control. To maintain eligibility, it is essential to keep up with routine maintenance and servicing.

9. Australian Consumer Law

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled to cancel your service contract and to a refund for the unused portion, or compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If a failure with the goods or service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

10. Estimates and savings claims

All cost-savings figures shown on this website (including the savings simulator and 10-year cost comparisons) are estimates only based on typical NSW household consumption and publicly available pricing for bottled water and jug filters. Actual savings depend on your individual household consumption, water usage habits, regional pricing and product selection. Individual results vary.

11. Health-related information

Information on this website regarding water contaminants (PFAS, chlorine, heavy metals, microplastics, etc.) and health is for educational purposes and is not medical advice. SafeMains products are water filtration systems, not medical devices, and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Consult a qualified medical professional for health-related decisions.

12. Performance claims

Contaminant reduction performance is based on manufacturer testing under controlled conditions and applicable standards (e.g. NSF/ANSI). Real-world performance depends on inlet water quality, flow rate, temperature and maintenance schedule. We rely on manufacturer certifications and do not warrant specific reduction percentages outside those tested conditions.

13. Intellectual property

All content on safemains.com.au — including text, graphics, logos, photography, video and code — is owned by or licensed to SafeMains and protected by Australian and international copyright laws. You may not copy, reproduce, modify or use our content for commercial purposes without our prior written consent.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject to the Australian Consumer Law and other non-excludable rights, our total liability arising out of or in connection with the supply of any goods or services is limited, at our option, to: (a) re-supply of the services; (b) repair or replacement of the goods; or (c) refund of amounts paid by you for the relevant goods or services. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profits, loss of use or property damage caused by pre-existing plumbing faults outside our control.

15. Force majeure

We are not liable for delays or failure to perform caused by events outside our reasonable control, including natural disasters, pandemics, supply-chain disruption, industrial action or government restrictions.

16. Privacy

Your use of our website and services is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

17. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. The parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always available at safemains.com.au/terms with the "Last updated" date. Continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
