We collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to provide our products and services, including:
- Identity and contact details — name, email address, phone number, postcode and installation address.
- Property and enquiry details — home type, household size, water concerns, comments and any information you provide in our forms.
- Transaction details — package selected, deposit/payment amounts and a Stripe payment reference. We do not store your full card number; payments are processed directly by Stripe.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, referring URL and cookies (used to operate the site, prevent abuse and measure performance).
- Service records — records of installations, water test results, warranty servicing and communications with our team.
2. How we use your information
- Respond to enquiries, quote requests and free water test bookings.
- Schedule, deliver and service installations and reservations.
- Process payments, deposits and refunds.
- Send transactional emails (booking confirmations, receipts, service updates).
- With your consent, send occasional updates about products, offers and educational content. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Maintain records, comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes.
- Improve our website, products and customer experience.
3. Disclosure to third parties
We do not sell your personal information. We disclose information only to:
- Our installation partners and licensed plumbers, where required to deliver the service you've requested.
- Service providers acting on our behalf, including Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), Supabase (secure database and file storage) and analytics/hosting providers.
- Government agencies, regulators or law enforcement where required or permitted by law.
- Professional advisors (legal, accounting, insurance) under strict confidentiality.
Some service providers may store data outside Australia (e.g. the United States or European Union). We take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle your information consistently with the APPs.
4. Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies to operate the site and analytics cookies to understand how visitors use it. You can disable cookies in your browser, but some features may not work as intended.
5. Data security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls and secure cloud infrastructure. We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above or as required by law (e.g. tax and warranty records — typically 7 years).

7. Access, correction and complaints
You may request access to or correction of your personal information at any time by emailing info@safemains.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable period, normally 30 days.
If you believe we have breached the APPs, please contact us first so we can attempt to resolve your complaint. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
8. Children
Our services are intended for customers 18 years and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
